Garden of Peace in Gaza Strip

Ambassador Izzat Abdulhadi met with a Melbourne based Australian NGO (Global Gardens of Peace) on August 30th 2016 in Ramallah to discuss the establishment of a community based garden in Gaza, covering 32.000 square meter of land in Khan Younis (Garden of Peace).

Ambassador Abdulhadi and the Australian delegation also met Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, the CEO of the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR) to discuss the involvement of PECDAR in this important Project.

The Australian Delegation briefed Dr. Ishtieh on the concept, design and activities of the future Garden of Peace in Gaza, and kindly requested support for the project. Dr. Shtayyeh promised to support by contributing to the fundraising process and to the construction of the Garden.

Both parties agreed to continue coordination and cooperation to guarantee the completion and sustainability of this project in Gaza.
