We at the Embassy of the State of Palestine would like to seize the opportunity of Eid Al Adha to wish the Muslim, Arab and Palestinian communities in Australia and New Zealand a very pleasant Eid full of joy, love and peace.

Al Adha means sacrifice and wishing well for the others, it is an occasion to celebrate the core Islamic values of coexistence, tolerance and mercy.

I am very proud of the Muslim, Arab and Palestinian communities in Australia and New Zealand who have shown great appreciation to their beloved countries by engaging as excellent citizens in them. At the same time, they continue to feel a strong sense of pride for their heritage and culture, which they have integrated into the Australian and New Zealand societies, while contributing positively to the formation of the Australian and New Zealand identities.

The Palestinian people, through their difficult journey over the past 100 years, have made huge sacrifices to live in dignity and peace in their homeland. Eid Al Adha means a lot to them when they are remembering their beloved ones who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and rights of their people. In spite of their suffering and loss, they are looking to the future, coexisting peacefully with their neighbors and living together in dignity and mutual respect.
