First Secretary Noura Saleh represented the Palestinian Embassy at a Ramadan celebration hosted by the Islamic High Council of Australia on Friday 18 May in Sydney. The Iftar was attended by federal and local MPs, religious leaders, civil society representatives and community leaders, among others.
It was an occasion to reflect on Ramadan messages and to highlight the importance of multiculturalism and cohesion.
Mr Shaoquett Moselmane MP delivered a speech in which he observed the 70-year anniversary of Nakba and condemned President Trump’s decision to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Other MPs also addressed the function's attendees.
