The United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR)) observed  yesterday June, 23 the World Refugee Day at Albert Hall in Canberra.

The function attended by representatives of the ACT government, Diplomatic corp, immigrant' families and local community.

Mr Thomas Albrecht, the representative of UNCHR to Australia spoke in the occasion highlighting the current tragedy of thousands of refugees worldwide and the necessity for the International community to take immediate measures to protract the rights of refugees and provide them with the necessary services for a decent life.

Mr Adam Bujairami, the Key speaker and an immigrant form a Palestinian background talked about his story immigrating to Australia from Yarmouk refugee Camp in Syria because of the current internal conflict represents the tragedy of the Palestinian refugees in general who were expelled from their home land ,Palestine, and accordingly lost their identity. 

It was a story of resilience representing also the difficulties that facing the Refugees from all over that World.

The Palestinian Ambassador attending the Day and congratulated Adam for his impressive but inspiring mountainous journey.
