On Friday 18 May, Ambassador Abdulhadi was invited by the General Union of Palestinian Workers and the Australian Palestinian Club to observe the 70th anniversary of the Nakba (Catastrophe), and to celebrate the month of Ramadan.

The Palestinian community in Canberra organized an Iftar dinner on Sunday 20 May. It was an opportunity to also observe the 70-year anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba where more than 800,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homeland and more than 550 villages were demolished.   

First Secretary Noura Saleh represented the Palestinian Embassy at a Ramadan celebration hosted by the Islamic High Council of Australia on Friday 18 May in Sydney. On Thursday April 19, Ambassador Abdulhadi and First Secretary Noura Saleh attended the opening event for the exhibition So That You Might Know Each Other: Faith and Culture in Islam at the National Museum of Australia (NMA) in Canberra.

On Tuesday 10 April, Ambassador Abdulhadi delivered a lecture to Monash University students in Melbourne. He was invited by the International Affairs Society to present the Palestinian perspective of the seventy-year conflict as well as to analyze the nature and consequences of recent political developments in Israel and Palestine.

On Wednesday March 28, Ambassador Izzat Abdulhadi participated in the Australian Institute of International Affairs' (AIIA) annual dinner at The Boat House restaurant in Canberra. The President of the Institute warmly welcomed the Ambassador and extended his greetings and best wishes to the Palestinian people.

The Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) organized a business lunch on Monday March 26 in Canberra which was attended by the Arab ambassadors in addition to DFAT's newly appointed First Assistant Secretary for the Middle East and Africa Division, Ms HK Yu.
