On May 14, Ambassador Izzat Abdulhadi has participated in a gathering to commemorate the 74 anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba in Sydney, attended by representatives of Arab and Palestinian communities, journalists and others who are interested in Cinema industry.
The event was organized by Aljudhour (roots) Cultural Association, the Palestinian Film Forum located in Gaza, and the University of Palestine.
Ambassador Abdulhadi delivered a speech on the occasion in which he acknowledged the Palestinian plight and the tragedy of Al Nakba, including its impact on the Palestinian political and socio-economic development of Palestine and Palestinian people. He stressed the importance of finding a just and acceptable solution for the Palestinian refugees according to UN resolution 194. He also encouraged the Palestinian community and their allies to promote the Palestinian story and make connections to the ongoing Israeli colonization, apartheid and human rights violations.
Ambassador Abdulhadi explained to the audience the significance of the Palestinian entrepreneurial response to the Al Nakba and continuation of their resistance, steadfastness and state build process.
