Presentation of Award to Ms Golriz Ghahraman MP on behalf of HE President Abbas
On February 8, Ambassador Abdulhadi presented Ms Golriz Ghahraman MP with the National Certificate of Honor for Academic Diplomacy in Support of Palestinian Rights on behalf of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas.
The ceremony was attended by a group of Palestinian community members and representatives from Aotearoa New Zealand advocacy groups. Ambassador Abdulhadi delivered a speech in which he thanked Ms Ghahraman for her continuous, committed support for the Palestinian people and their human rights, in addition to acting as a strong voice in the Aotearoa New Zealand Parliament advocating for recognition of the State of Palestine.
Ms Ghahraman thanked the Ambassador and President Abbas for honouring her and reaffirmed her continuous support for the rights of the Palestinian people, in particular their right to self-determination and right to return.
