Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA 40th Anniversary Celebration and Global Solidarity Dinner
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine was honoured to attend Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA's 40th Anniversary Celebration and Global Solidarity Dinner in Sydney as a special guest.
Union Aid Abroad–APHEDA is the prestigious global justice organisation of the Australian union movement, and provides regular and continuous humanitarian and developmental assistance to the Palestinian people. APHEDA has already provided 1 million AUD to the people of Gaza in partnership with the MA’AN Development Center.
MA'AN's Director sent the following message for the attendees of this event:
“We have full confidence that APHEDA will continue its mission to support the Palestinian people, especially in light of the ongoing war crimes across all of Palestine. The urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza, along with the broader struggle for a ceasefire, real peace, justice, and Palestinian self-determination, demand unwavering solidarity from the international community.”
This message was conveyed by APHEDA’s co-founder, Dr Helen McCue, followed by a minute of silence.
The evening was a wonderful commemoration of APHEDA's excellent and principled work, with a constant focus on the Palestinian people and their rights.
