Palestinian Foreign Minister, Aotearoa New Zealand Foreign Minister, discuss developments in occupied Palestinian territory
September 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, Her Excellency Dr Varsen Shahin, discussed with New Zealand Foreign Minister, the Right Honourable Winston Peters, the latest political and field developments in the occupied Palestinian territory, including the situation in the Gaza Strip and the escalating terrorism by Israeli colonists in the West Bank.
During a phone call held today, the two ministers also discussed efforts and steps that the international community can take to support the peace process and advance the implementation of the peace plan.
Peters affirmed New Zealand’s continued commitment to the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and its support for the two-state solution as the path to achieving peace and stability in the region.
