International Women's Day 2019
“If it's not appropriate for women, then it's not appropriate”.
The Ambassador and staff of the General Delegation of Palestine to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific would like to take the opportunity on International Women's Day 2019 to extend their warmest congratulations to all women around the globe and, in particular, to Palestinian women at home and abroad.
We celebrate this occasion to recognize and appreciate the extraordinary role that Palestinian women have played and continue to play both in their resistance to the Israeli occupation and its indignities, and in their ongoing fight for more rights and equality.
We also pay homage to the wonderful achievements of Palestinian women across many different fields, all of which we are very proud. Women such as: Khaleda Jarar, Razan al-Najjar, Ahed Tamimi, Rashida Tlaib, Fadwa Tokan, Hanan Ashrawi, Samiha Khalil, Randa Abdul Fattah, Hanan al-Hroub, and Layla Shahid are just some of the many outstanding Palestinian women who have achieved so much.
