The Government of the State of Palestine warns of the grave and mounting consequences of Israel's ongoing genocidal war, siege, and financial strangulation - particularly for the Palestinian healthcare system - and calls for urgent international intervention.

The beginning of the school year in the West Bank has been postponed against the backdrop of Israel’s unlawful withholding of Palestinian clearance revenues, now exceeding 10 billion shekels, or 4.5 billion AUD, in total. These clearance revenues constitute more than two-thirds of the Palestinian Government’s total income, and are indispensable for sustaining essential public services, including education, healthcare, and social protection.

The Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza expresses deep regret at the US denial of entry visas to the delegation of the State of Palestine participating in the 80th session of the UNGA, and calls on the US to reverse this decision, warning that weakening the Palestinian Authority will undermine peace efforts in the face of unprecedented escalation against the Palestinian people.

Statement from Presidency of the State of Palestine expressing deep regret and astonishment at the US decision not to grant visas to Palestinian officials scheduled to participate in the upcoming sessions of the UN General Assembly, to be held in New York in September. The Presidency calls on the US administration to reverse this decision, which directly undermines international law and the UNHQ Agreement.

As of 15 August 2025, Famine (IPC Phase 5) is confirmed in Gaza Governorate: "After 22 months of relentless conflict, over half a million people in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic conditions characterised by starvation, destitution and death." The Famine Review Committee projects Famine thresholds to be crossed in more governorates in the coming weeks, while stressing that: "As this Famine is entirely man-made, it can be halted and reversed."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine commends the IPC report confirming the occurrence of Famine in the Gaza Strip. The full weight of the international community must be deployed immediately to halt the Famine and end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people -- before it is too late.

"Unjustifiable and Hostile to Peace": the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine unequivocally condemns the attacks launched by Israeli PM Netanyahu against French President Macron and Australian PM Albanese. The misleading narrative linking criticism of the Israeli occupation and its crimes, or support for the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and independence, with antisemitism or hatred toward Jews is a worn-out, broken record that no longer fools anyone.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine unequivocally condemns Israel's arbitrary and illegal measures regarding the cancellation of visas for Australian diplomats accredited to the Palestinian Authority, affirming that the State of Palestine does not recognize this decision. Such measures reflect Israel’s arrogance and state of political imbalance, and will only strengthen the determination of Australia and other countries to uphold international law, the two-state solution, and recognition of the State of Palestine as the only path to achieving peace.

Palestine appeals to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), urging immediately action to safeguard the lives and dignity of Palestinian detainees, who are subjected to torture, starvation, and ill-treatment in Israeli occupation detention cells as part of a systematic Israeli policy targeting the Palestinian people and their leadership.
