Demands Decisive International Intervention to Halt Implementation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine strongly condemns Israel’s move to issue tenders for the construction of thousands of new colonial settlement units in and around occupied Jerusalem, as well as in the “Ariel” settlement in the centre of the occupied West Bank.
The Ministry considers colonial settlement construction in the E1 area to be a continuation of the Israeli occupation’s broader plans to eliminate any prospects for the realisation of the State of Palestine on the ground, to erode its geographic and demographic unity, and to entrench the division of the West Bank into isolated enclaves that are each engulfed in a surrounding ocean of colonial settlements – thereby facilitating their eventual annexation.
The Ministry views these tenders as an extension of Israel’s ongoing crimes of genocide, forced displacement, and annexation, and a clear manifestation of Netanyahu’s statements regarding what he calls “Greater Israel.”
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry continues its intensive efforts and engagements with states, peoples, and all components of the international community to expose the Israeli occupation’s racist, colonial agenda.
In this context, the Ministry urgently calls for genuine international intervention and the imposition of sanctions on Israel to compel it to immediately halt the implementation of its expansionist colonial plans; to comply with the international consensus on resolving the Palestinian cause; to end its ongoing genocide, forced displacement, and annexation; to enable our people to attain their inalienable right to self-determination; and to enable the State of Palestine to exercise its sovereignty over the entirety of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 – namely, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.

تدين وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين بشدة إقدام الاحتلال على طرح عطاءات لبناء آلاف الوحدات الاستيطانية الجديدة في القدس ومحيطها وفي مستوطنة "اريئيل" وسط الضفة، وتعتبر أن البناء الاستعماري في منطقة E1 استمرار لمخططات الاحتلال لضرب فرصة تجسيد الدولة الفلسطينية على أرض الوطن وتقويض وحدتها الجغرافية والسكانية، وتكريس تقسيم الضفة إلى مناطق معزولة بعضها عن بعض تغرق في محيط استيطاني ليسهل استكمال ضمها.
ترى الوزارة أن تلك العطاءات امتداد لجرائم الإبادة والتهجير والضم، وهي صدى لمقولات نتنياهو بشأن ما أسماه "اسرائيل الكبرى". إن الوزارة إذ تواصل حراكها مع الدول وشعوبها ومع مكونات المجتمع الدولي لفضح مخططات الاحتلال الاستعمارية العنصرية، فإنها تطالب بتدخل دولي حقيقي وفرض عقوبات على الاحتلال لإجباره على وقف تنفيذ مخططاته والانصياع للاجماع الدولي على حل القضية الفلسطينية ووقف الإبادة والتهجير والضم، وتمكين شعبنا من نيل حقه في تقرير المصير، ودولتنا من بسط ولايتها على كامل الأرض المحتلة منذ عام ٦٧ بما فيها القدس الشرقية.
