Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns Israel’s Arbitrary Measures Against Australian Diplomats
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine condemns in the strongest terms the arbitrary measures announced by the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, regarding the cancellation of visas for Australian diplomats accredited to the Palestinian National Authority.
The Ministry considers these measures illegal and in violation of the Geneva Conventions, international law, and United Nations resolutions – none of which grant Israel, the occupying power, such authority.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry affirms that the State of Palestine does not recognize this decision and will continue to treat the Australian diplomats as representatives duly accredited to the State of Palestine. It stresses that such actions reflect Israel’s arrogance and state of political imbalance, and will only strengthen the determination of Australia and other countries to uphold international law, the two-state solution, and recognition of the State of Palestine as the only path to achieving peace.

تدين وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين بأشد العبارات الإجراء التعسفي الذي أعلن عنه وزير خارجية الاحتلال بشأن إلغاء تأشيرات الدبلوماسيين الاستراليين لدى السلطة الوطنية الفلسطينية، وتعتبره غير قانوني ويتناقض مع اتفاقيات جنيف والقانون الدولي وقرارات الشرعية الدولية التي لا تمنح السلطة القائمة بالاحتلال مثل هذه الصلاحية.
تؤكد الوزارة أن دولة فلسطين لا تعترف بهذا القرار وتتعامل مع الدبلوماسيين الاستراليين كممثلين ومعتمدين لدى دولة فلسطين، وتشدد على أن تلك الإجراءات تعكس عنجهية إسرائيلية وحالة من فقدان التوازن السياسي، وأنها ستزيد استراليا والدول إصراراً على التمسك بالقانون الدولي وحل الدولتين والاعتراف بدولة فلسطين لتحقيق السلام.
