Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Warns of the Consequences of Imposing Settler Control over Al-Ibrahimi Mosque
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine is closely monitoring with deep concern reports in the Israeli media regarding the transfer of administrative authority over Al- Ibrahimi Mosque (Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi) from the Hebron Municipality to a settler council.
The Ministry considers this an unprecedented step in Israel’s ongoing efforts to assert sovereignty over the site, Judaize it, and alter its identity and historical features; constituting a blatant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The Ministry urgently calls on UNESCO and the international community to intervene immediately to halt the implementation of this decision. It also warns of the dangerous implications this move may have on the sanctity of religious sites and the potential for further escalation in the region.
