Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Calls for Urgent Global Action to Protect Journalists from Israel's Targeted Incitement and Assassination Campaigns
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine demands that journalists and media associations around the world organize and act to protect Palestinian journalists from Israel’s targeted assassination campaigns.
Israel is responsible for the most sustained massacre of journalists, ever. Since October 2023, Israel has deliberately incited against, targeted, and killed over 230 journalists in Gaza.
Israel’s policy of targeting journalists for exposing and documenting its ethnic cleansing of Palestine is long-standing, methodical, and organized. This criminal Israeli policy is aimed at killing any witness to its genocide and burying any evidence of its crimes.
Israel kills journalists with full impunity, out of cruelty and vengeance against the truth. Therefore, the Ministry calls on all journalists worldwide not to participate or engage with Israel’s lies and propaganda and to reject its campaign of dehumanization and delegitimization of Palestinian journalists.
No journalist should be complicit in the incitement and killing of another journalist.
Palestinian journalists are fulfilling their journalistic duty and honouring their profession with unmatched levels of courage, professionalism, and devotion to the truth in the most impossible circumstances. They are heroes who should be honoured, not vilified.
