Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Israeli Ministers’ Incursion into Occupied Palestinian Territory Reflects Blatant Disregard for International Law and International Legitimacy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine strongly condemns the incursion by Israeli Defense Minister Katz and extremist Finance Minister Smotrich into the occupied territory of the State of Palestine.
The Ministry further condemns the racist, colonial statements made by the Israeli officials in this context, which included explicit calls to undermine the institutions of the State of Palestine as part of Israel’s ongoing comprehensive war against the Palestinian people and their national institutions in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Ministers also explicitly called to intensify, protect, and encourage the expansion of illegal settlements and to block Palestinian construction. They further boasted about the demolition of Palestinian homes and the construction of more colonial settlement roads in the occupied West Bank.
Such inciteful rhetoric is being exploited by extremist Israeli settlers to escalate their attacks against the Palestinian people, their land, and their property, and to further entrench Israel’s apartheid regime — as is currently happening in the Palestinian village of Duma, south of the city of Nablus, where settlers have set fire to several Palestinian homes.
The Ministry views this provocative incursion as a clear affront to the international community, international law, and relevant UN resolutions.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry stresses that the failure of the international community to take meaningful action - particularly those states that claim to support peace and the two-state solution - only emboldens Israel, the occupying Power, to intensify its violent and unchecked comprehensive domination of the Palestinian people and encourages the continuation of its criminal policies of genocidal war, forced displacement, and annexation.

تدين وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين بأشد العبارات اقتحام وزير جيش الاحتلال كاتس، ووزير المالية المتطرف سموتريتش لأرض دولة فلسطين المحتلة، والتصريحات الاستعمارية العنصرية التي اطلقاها خلال الزيارة، بشأن تقويض مؤسسات دولة فلسطين كجزء من الحرب الشاملة على شعبنا ومؤسساته في الضفة وغزة، وكذلك ما يتعلق بتعميق الاستيطان وحمايته وتشجيعه، أو محاصرة البناء الفلسطيني والتفاخر بهدم منازل الفلسطينيين، وشق المزيد من الطرق الاستيطانية الاستعمارية، الأمر الذي سيوظفه غلاة المستوطنين لتصعيد اعتداءاتهم ضد شعبنا وأرضه وممتلكاته، وتكريس نظام الفصل العنصري الابرتهايد، كما يحصل حالياً في دوما جنوب نابلس، حيث اقدم مستوطنون على حرق عدد من منازل المواطنين.
ترى الوزارة أن هذا الاقتحام الاستفزازي استخفاف واضح بالمجتمع الدولي وبالقانون الدولي وقرارات الشرعية الدولية، وتؤكد على أن تقاعس المجتمع الدولي والدول التي تدعي الحرص على السلام وحل الدولتين، يشجع حكومة الاحتلال على تعميق استفرادها العنيف بشعبنا، ويدفعها لمواصلة حرب الإبادة والتهجير والضم.
