Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns US Ambassador Huckabee’s Statements as Contradicting Religious and Historical Facts and International Law
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine has strongly condemned the statements made by the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, in which he claimed that Israel has a “biblical right” to control the entire Middle East from the Nile to the Euphrates.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry affirmed that these remarks contradict religious and historical facts, as well as international law, and contradict US President Donald Trump’s declared position rejecting the annexation of the West Bank.
The Ministry stressed that these provocative and unacceptable remarks constitute an explicit call to violate states’ sovereignty, and represent support for the Israeli occupation to continue its war of ethnic cleansing and displacement, and implement plans of annexation and racist expansion targeting the Palestinian people. The international community has rejected such actions, and has affirmed that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, remain occupied Palestinian territory under international law.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the US administration to adopt a clear and explicit position on the statements of its Ambassador to Israel, and to reaffirm President Trump’s declared commitments to the pursuit of peace in the Middle East, the cessation of wars and violence, and the rejection of Israeli annexation of the West Bank – emphasizing that such remarks to nothing to help advance President Trump’s vision for a lasting peace in the Middle East.

أدانت وزارة الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين، تصريحات السفير الأميركي لدى إسرائيل مايك هاكابي، التي قال فيها "إن إسرائيل لديها "حق توراتي" في السيطرة على كامل الشرق الأوسط من النيل إلى الفرات، مدعيا تفسيرات توراتية.
وأكدت الخارجية في بيان لها، مساء اليوم السبت، أن هذه التصريحات تناقض الحقائق الدينية والتاريخية، والقانون الدولي فضلاً عن تناقضها مع ما أعلنه الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب برفض ضم الضفة الغربية.
وشدد البيان على أن هذه التصريحات الاستفزازية المرفوضة، تمثل دعوة صريحة للاعتداء على سيادة الدول، ودعما للاحتلال للاستمرار في حرب الإبادة والتهجير وتنفيذ مخططات الضم والتوسع العنصري بحق الشعب الفلسطيني، وهو ما رفضه المجتمع الدولي بأكمله، وأكد أن قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية بما فيها القدس الشرقية هي أرض فلسطينية محتلة وفقاً للقانون الدولي.
ودعت وزارة الخارجية، الإدارة الأميركية، إلى اتخاذ موقف واضح وصريح من تصريحات سفيرها لدى إسرائيل التي تتناقض كلياً مع موقف الرئيس الأميركي، والتأكيد على المواقف التي أعلنها الرئيس ترمب الخاصة بإحلال السلام في الشرق الأوسط، ووقف الحروب والعنف، ورفض الضم الإسرائيلي للضفة الغربية، الامر الذي لا يساعد في تحقيق رؤية الرئيس ترمب للسلام الدائم للشرق الأوسط.
