Australians for Justice and Peace in Palestine (AJPP) has shown the idol Film in Canberra. The "Idol" describes the mountainous journey of Mohammad Assaf (Arab Idol in the year 2014) from Gaza strip to Cairo to participate in the Arab Idol competition. The viewers of the film were heavily influenced by the patience, resilience and determination of Mohammad Assaf who challenged the Israeli blockade of Gaza Strip and managed to travel to Cairo, won the competition and has become the Arab Idol. 

 The Palestinian Ambassador, in his welcoming presentation, stated that the story of Mohammad Assaf is the story of the Palestinian people with their resilience, steadfastness, resistance and determination for their self determination and statehood.
