A Synopsis of the PLO Executive Committee Statement Issued on November 25 Regarding Israel's Draft Bill to Recognize Israel as a Nation-State of the Jewish People
On November 23, the Israeli cabinet approved a bill that defines Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people. Such a draft bill aims to destroy the two-state solution by superimposing “Greater Israel" on historical Palestine and endorsing the military occupation. Furthermore, it would institutionalize apartheid and deprive the Palestinian citizens of Israel of their social, political and economic rights, turning them into second-class citizens.

The Palestinian Declaration of Independence: 26 years after Palestine’s Historic Compromise
November 15, 2014 “The State of Palestine declares its belief in the settlement of international and regional disputes by peaceful means in accordance with the charter and resolutions of the United Nations”
On November 15, 1988, the Palestinian National Council, then led by late President Yasser Arafat, declared the independence of the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders. This was the historic and painful Palestinian compromise: we accepted that our state would exist on only 22 percent of our historic homeland. Israel responded by colonizing more of our land and entrenching its control over the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. The possibility of a two-state solution is quickly fading away. The international community must now act decisively in order to salvage the two-state solution. The international community’s recognition of a State of Palestine on all of the territory occupied by Israel in 1967 would be an important first step.
