Nakba Commemoration and Graduation Ceremony
First Secretary Noura Saleh and Mr Jamal Nabulsi attended a dinner organised by the General Union of Palestinian Workers, the Australian Palestinian Club and the Australian Palestinian Graduates Association.
The event was both a commemoration of Al Nakba and a celebration of young Palestinians who have recently graduated from university degrees and completed their HSC.
First Secretary Saleh delivered a speech at the event, congratulating the graduates on their achievements and framing their successes as resistance to the oppression of Palestinians.
Excellent speeches were also delivered by the Hon Mr Bob Carr, former Foreign Minister of Australia, Senator Lee Rhiannon, and others.
The event also included a show of traditional Palestinian dress, a play, and an award ceremony for the graduates.
