Identical Letter from the Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations: Israel, the occupying Power, has perpetrated yet another massacre of displaced civilians in yet another school in the Gaza Strip.

The State of Palestine condemns the concerted efforts by Israel, the occupying power, to undermine and terminate the vital operations and provision of services by the UN and other international agencies, including UNRWA.

At UNESCO's "Change the Game" Ministerial Forum on the sidelines of the Olympic Games, the representative of the State of Palestine reviews the serious and far-reaching repercussions of the ongoing Israeli war on the Palestinian sports sector and athletes in occupied Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

The General Delegation of Palestine welcomes the historic ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on 19 July that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory since 1967 is unlawful; that Israeli settlements and the regime associated with them are in violation of international law, as are Israel’s acts of annexation, including of East Jerusalem; that Israel’s policies and practices constitute racial segregation and apartheid; and that Israel’s policies and practices have resulted in the prolonged deprivation and denial of the fundamental right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

Israel’s occupation has been declared unlawful by the World Court, which has stipulated that it must be terminated completely and as rapidly as possible. This means Israel is under an obligation to end this illegal colonial enterprise unconditionally, and in our view, that means immediately and totally.

Identical Letter from the Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations: Israel’s attacks on UNRWA are clearly aimed at destroying it, part and parcel of the sinister, systematic attempts to cause irreparable harm to the Palestinian people, including the Palestine refugees.

At the meeting, Palestinian Prime Minister Dr Mohammad Mustafa presented his government’s plans to international partners, highlighting the following priority areas: the facilitation of emergency aid to Gaza; a comprehensive plan for Gaza; a comprehensive reform program to strengthen Palestinian institutions; and a comprehensive plan to develop and transform the Palestinian economy.

Press Release on Al Nakba Day: 15 May 2024 marks the 76th anniversary of the 1948 Palestinian Nakba, “Catastrophe”, in which more than 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced, dispossessed, and expelled from their homes in historic Palestine by Zionist militias and armed forces in a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing.

The General Delegation of Palestine to Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific welcomes the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly affirming that the State of Palestine is qualified for membership in the United Nations and recommending that the Security Council reconsider the matter of Palestine’s admission to full UN membership favourably. The resolution further grants the State of Palestine additional rights and privileges of participation in the UN, and was adopted by a vote of 143 in favour to 9 against, with 25 abstentions.
