This horrific act reveals the brutality of the daily crimes committed by Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians, as well as against humanitarian, UN, medical, and press personnel – with the intent to terrorize them and obstruct the delivery of life-saving aid to the people of Gaza. This is a deliberate policy aimed at eradicating all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip and rendering it uninhabitable, in pursuit of the forcible transfer of the entire Palestinian population.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine condemns the incursion by Israeli Ministers Katz and Smotrich into occupied Palestinian territory as a blatant violation of international law and legitimacy. The Ministry further condemns the ministers’ racist and colonial rhetoric, which included calls to expand illegal settlements, demolish Palestinian homes, and suppress Palestinian state institutions. It warns that such rhetoric incites settler violence, as seen in the recent arson attack on Palestinian homes in the village of Duma. The Ministry stresses that the international community’s inaction emboldens Israel’s violent and criminal policies of occupation, genocidal war, apartheid, forced displacement, and annexation.
